The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills for assisting victims of all ages. This includes doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It’s intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital.
This course is appropriate for nurses, nursing students, dentists, doctors, EMT’s, paramedics, firefighters, physical therapists, or anyone in the medical or healthcare fields.
After completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the links in the American Heart Association’s “Chain of Survival”
- Describe the steps of CPR for Adults, Children, and Infants
- Describe the safe and accurate use of an AED
- Describe the steps and use of a bag valve mask
